Beverly Kilimas Obituary
December 31, 1951 - July 4, 2019
She was born on December 31, 1951 in Pittsburgh, PA to Thomas and Anna (Pisani) Weir (5th of 6 children). She is survived by her husband Paul and her daughter Adriane Salomon McKnight (Ben) and her two beloved grandchildren Madelyn and Evan. Beverly is also survived by her sisters Linda Allison (Alan), Nancy Neusel (Mark), brother Richard Weir, sister-in-law Maria (John), brother-in-law John (Mary) and was very close to her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and sisters Helen Wagner (Regis) and Judy Korth (Herbert); mother-in-law Irene Kilimas and sister-in-law Chrysanthe Ewing (Richard).
In 1955, Beverly’s family moved to Detroit, MI where she later graduated from St. Ambrose High School. Beverly obtained her nursing degree and went on to work for Saint John Hospital in Detroit before retiring after over 35 years of service. She married Paul Kilimas on August 25, 1993 and they moved in 2014 to Grand Haven for retirement and to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren in Chicago.
Beverly was a hardworking, kind and selfless woman. She was happiest surrounded by family and helping others. She loved to sing to the radio, dance and laugh. She always had a beautiful smile on her face.
Family and friends whose lives Beverly touched are invited to AH Peters Funeral Home (20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods) on Sunday, July 21 from 3-8pm and a Memorial Service will be held at St. Ambrose Church (15020 Hampton St, Grosse Pointe Park) on Monday, July 22 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society or, because of her life-long love of animals, to your local animal shelter.
