Daniel Lusch passed away on April 13, 2019 at the age of 68, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 10th, 1951; son of Jacob and Dorothy (nee Dold) Lusch. Daniel married the love of his life, Mary Margaret Langrill, on May 20, 1978 at St. Veronica Catholic Church in Eastpointe. The couple enjoyed over 40 years of marriage together.

Daniel was a man of many interests. He enjoyed reading about history, and completing Sudoku puzzles. He enjoyed researching his genealogy and was fascinated with World War II history. He followed the Detroit Tigers and had a love for antique cars. You could always find him working on a project around the house or catching a John Wayne movie rerun. His selfless nature was evident as he was always the first person to help someone else in need. Dan spent countless hours volunteering with the Capuchin’s, donating his weekend mornings at their On the Rise Bakery. His biggest love in life was his family. He was a gracious participant in tea parties with his granddaughter Kinsleigh, and enjoyed taking his grandson Kylan to Greenfield Village to ride Thomas the Train. He absolutely adored his newest grandson Kamden, whom he affectionally nicknamed “Lil Bubba”.

Dan was a teacher at both St. David and St. Matthew Schools in Detroit, and then spent the balance of his working career as an insurance adjuster.

He will be missed dearly by his loving wife Mary. He was so proud of his sons Keith, Eric, and Patrick (Kim). He adored his grandchildren Collin, Brendan, Kylan, Kinsleigh, and Kamden. He is survived by his sister Judith (Ramon) and his five brothers, Michael (Barbara), David (Claudia), Gerald (the late Marianne), Robert (Patricia), and Paul (Ann), and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. A scripture service will be held at 7:00 pm. Mr. Lusch will lie instate on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6021 Whittier, Detroit. A committal service will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Church or the Capuchins, 1820 Mt. Elliott, Detroit, MI, 48207.
