Obituary

Norman R. Ream was born August 9, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan; the son of Archie and Hulda Ream. He was a proud member of the Saint Clair Shores Community for many years, and a proud Korean Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Norman passed away March 12, 2018, at the age of 86.

Family and Faith were the two most important things in his life. Norman was a devoted husband to his wife of 63 years Jean, the couple enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles. He adored his children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. He often took his grandchildren ice skating well into his sixties and seventies. Camping trips were a family event and he traveled all over his the United States with wife and children. While camping Norman also enjoyed fishing everywhere he could.

Norman was known for his gardening ability; from flowers to vegetables he grew one of the largest gardens in Saint Clair Shores. The City Beautification Society even nominated his garden to be part of their walking garden tour! He was so good with plants that when he volunteered at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, they put him in charge of their flowers outside the church. He was also a favorite of his neighbors, especially when it came time for his annual corn roast.

Norman is predeceased by his beloved wife Jean, parents, and several siblings
He is the beloved father of Diane (Gary) Jarinski and Joanne (Dennis), O’Connor. Dear grandfather of David, Dawn, Christine (David), Heather (Thomas). And treasured Gi-gi to David. Brother of Arthur Ream.

Norm will lie in state 9:00am until time of Mass 10:00am at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, 21201 E. Thirteen Mile Rd., St. Clair Shores MI 48082
