James "Jim" Tannar, age 80, a resident of Grosse Pointe Woods, originally of Massachusetts, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 in Detroit. He was born on Monday, April 25, 1938 in Natick, Massachusetts to Ray and Ann Tannar. Jim married his love, Sharon Busato, at St. Linus Catholic Church on May 27, 1967 after courting her for several years. Jim worked as a quality control sales engineer for many years in an automotive related business. He worked until he was 68 years old and retired in 2006. Jim was an avid boater. He and Sharon loved being on the water and took many trips by boat. Jim was excellent behind the helm of a ship and was even licensed to captain by the U. S. Coast Guard. He will be missed.

Jim is the beloved husband to Sharon, joined 51 years in love.
Loving brother-in-law to Jackie (Michael) Schach, Holly Busato, and Carole Tannar.
Jim also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Ann Tannar; Brothers, Thomas and Jack Tannar; Sister-in-law, Lydia Tannar.
